PROFILE:

Results-oriented entrepreneurial consulting professional looking to join the right team and bring a wealth of skills, contacts, knowledge and diversity to it’s given mission and vision.

HISTORY OF EXPERIENCE:

– Started in 1997 by Arun Gandhi, 5th Grandson of Mahatma Gandhi
As of 2012 Gandhi Legacy Tour is a legal d/b/a of ADMAX LLC in partnership with Arun and Tushar Gandhi.

“The Gandhi Legacy Tour* led by Gandhi’s grandson, Arun Gandhi, and great grandson, Tushar Gandhi, for the past several years is unusual in that it does not focus on places of tourist interest but places of human interest. It is designed to educate …

” … in the essence of Gandhi’s philosophy of nonviolence and how individuals can apply it to bring about socio-economic change. The tour visits rural India and urban slums to see and compare projects helping to make the change we wish to see in the world. Gandhi believed in creating a “Sarvodaya” society — a society where everyone would enjoy a reasonably good standard of living with attendant rights and privileges.

“This can be created by compassionate citizens constructively helping the less fortunate gain the ability to make it good. His final Talisman to the citizens of the world was: Whenever you are in doubt or when the Self becomes too much apply the following test: Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest person you may have seen and ask yourself if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to the person. Will the person gain anything by it? Will it restore control over her/his life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to Swaraj “Independence of self” for the hungry and the spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your Self melt away!  Arun Gandhi

Gandhi Worldwide Education Institute Director and Assistant Treasurer

The Gandhi Worldwide Education Institute (“GWEI”) has embarked on an ambitious multi-pronged program to help eradicate the scourge of poverty and human degradation. Gandhi said: “Poverty is the worse form of violence,” and must be tackled on all fronts to ensure human rights and human dignity to those who are victims of societal exploitation.

The priority of the Institute is to rescue children from the poorest sections of Indian society who are the first to become victims of criminal gangs; the second priority is to build an institution that serves as a shelter as well as a learning institution where the rescued children will receive basic education.

GWEI Mission
In May of 2008, the Institute was founded in the United States by Arun Gandhi, grandson of M.K. Gandhi, to promote community building in economically depressed areas of the world through the joining of Gandhian philosophy and vocational education for children and their parents.

Arun and his late wife, Sunanda, spent almost 30 years in India working with friends to help the oppressed and abandoned children, utilizing Gandhi’s philosophy of SARVODAYA — the Welfare of All Citizens. They rescued and found homes for hundreds of abandoned children and developed several economic programs that successfully changed the lives of thousands of impoverished people.

The Institute, a registered 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization, is headquartered in Wauconda, IL.
